Affordable LUXE Japanese Food- Sen-Ryo 🍣🎏

I could never get sick of Japanese food and have been wanting to try this place for the longest time since it’s always fully booked. But we were super lucky to get a table through walk-ins.

But we did go on a weekday at around 530pm so maybe that’s why we were able to get a table!! I was so so excited to finally be able to try it

Loved the vibes of the place and the setting was super intimate and the lighting in the restaurant was targeted to shine on the food itself which brought out the colors of each plate (no filters for any of the pictures)

🎏 Deluxe Sashimi Platter

this was good for 2 and looks wise, it’s super colorful and I just didn’t want to destroy it. Everything was super fresh and melts in your mouth

🍣 Sen-ryo Supreme Sashimi Platter

we ordered this from the menu since it was labeled as a chef recommendation and no regrets. Again, everything was so fresh!!

🐡 Mirin Boshi

Ok this… was pufferfish… we didn’t know cause the waitress reccomended this and when we asked she what it was, “it’s super yummy, abit like cuttlefish but softer”. After knowing what it was, i was a bit hesitant but it really does taste like cuttlefish and it was super chewy but I personally didn’t like the sticky texture of it… still good tho and if you’re adventurous, go for it

🦑 Ika Teriyaki

Nothing too special about this dish since we could get this elsewhere too but honestly, it was super soft and unlike the ones I tried so far. My bf reallt loved this

🍳 Sen-ryo Chawanmushi

Nothing fantastic about it since it’s jusg Chawanmushi but I did feel like the broth they added to this was really good since it’s flavorful

🥩 Australian Wagyu Don

We ordered this since we skipped lunch and we could really eat so I guess you could skip this if you’re not too hungry. But the beef in this was reallt juicy and tender and the rice was practically soaked in the beef sauce. Jammy eggs too !!

💛 Sen-ryo Tamagoyaki with Mentaiko Sauce

Pretty self-explanatory. Egg was bigger than what I had expected and the sauce was pretty good. Honestly, I suppose you could give this a miss

Total damage: ~ $150 for 2 pax

Overall, this meal was luxe but at an affordable pricing, considering its location and the quality of the food served. I would totally be going back again, but perhaps skipping some stuff on the menu, especially if I’m not too hungry. 🫶🏻
