EGGSLUT IS NOW IN A HAWKER CENTRE?! 🥚 🍳

Fans of eggslut rejoice! Recently, my friend and I discovered this little stall in Maxwell Market that is said to be opened by ex-eggslut chefs and I’m sure this will be your next go to stall the next time you visit the place.

Named “Danlao”, the menu here is super simple consisting of just 5 variations, with each topped off with a very runny type scrambled egg! Prices range from $4.50-7.00, and you could also have the option to add “liao”.

We ordered the tomato egg rice with char siew ($4.50 + $3), and the fried chicken cutlet rice ($6). The tomato egg was nice and saucy, and according to my friend, is very nice. The charsiew to me was a good balance of fat and lean meat. For the chicken cutlet, it’s nice and crispy, seasoned with a sort of five spice, but the star of the show was definitely the eggs! It’s nice and creamy (though i have to say i kept expecting a fairfax taste even though i know this is not lol!)

One gripe though was the rice. They used the typical long grain rice which had a drier texture; kind if wish they used the japanese type rice which is a bit more starchy and sweet.

Overall, worth a visit if you’re in the area!
