Caught all the treadmills in my gym being taken up and people were ALL doing 12-3-30 got me thinking: Is 12-3-30 really effective?? 🤨
What is 12-3-30?
Basically it is:
- incline 12
- speed 3 miles/hr = 5km/h
- for 30 minutes straight
It’s as simple as that!!
Here’s how you can make your 12-3-30 more effective!
1. DON’T hold onto the handrails ❌ - it really takes away a lot of work that your core and legs should be doing 🫣
2. DON’T put your hands on your hips and look down! ❌ - your core becomes lax and over a long period of time, your neck and back becomes strained!
3. DO this ✅: alternate between incline 9-12 and speed 4.5-6 km/h
- this makes it more sustainable especially for newbies!
- it less impactful on our knees!
- it kinda makes it a HIIT routine with short periods of high HR and medium-low HR!
