NZ: What To Do When There Is NO LAVENDER

If you’re in Wanaka Lavender Farm in Wanaka (South Island, New Zealand) literally now (December), it’s the actual peak season and there would be fields of Lavender blooming 🌸

However, my husband and I were there in October when spring has just begun, you might be wondering if it’s still worth going to Wanaka Lavender Farm in this case, our answer is a resounding YES! 🙈

During the off peak season (April - November), ticket prices are half price (NZ $7) and because there isn’t much people, you can literally have a picnic there and enjoy other flowers for hours, you’d be able to see different flowers in each season:

🌞 Summer (Dec-Feb): Lavender

🍂 Autumn (Mar-May): Roses, Dahlias & Autumn Leaves

❄️ Winter (Jun-Jul): No Flowers, But You Can Enjoy The Farm Animals

🌸 Spring (Sep-Nov): Tulips, Cherry Blossom, Daffodils, Bluebells, Rhododendrons

By now you’d know I really love flowers so seeing this tulip field with no one around was a 😍 moment for me!

We also had ample time to interact with very cute farm animals like Alpacas, Llamas, Sheeps and Horses and also had free honey tasting in the souvenir shop!

Even though this place might be slightly touristy, it is definitely still worth a visit especially if you’re travelling to Wanaka and happen to pass by!
