This year, I’ve noticed my mood start to drop as soon as fall started. Whether it’s the colder air, saying goodbye to summer, or less sunlight during the day, I’ve been feeling kinda down.

If you struggle with seasonal depression or a “seasonal slump”, please know you’re not alone. Here are some thing that work for me that may also work for you:

Spend Time on a Hobby: this has been something I’ve been prioritizing more lately and it has been so fun! I’ve started reading more and coloring.

Practice Gratitude/Journal: Gratitude is so powerful when it comes to our mood. I try to think of three things I’m grateful for daily. Journaling also really helps get any thoughts out on paper that may be bottled up inside.

Get Outside: Fresh air and sunlight is a powerful duo!

Exercise: I totally get it, I don’t have the energy or desire to exercise, especially during the colder winter months. But, exercise is shown to boost your happy hormones and can definitely help combat seasonal depression.

Self-care: Spend some time taking care of yourself <3 I like to read, put no a face mask, sit in front of my red light therapy device, practice breath work, and relax with a good show.

Plan Activities: Try to plan some things you will look forward to. It will get you out of the house and also get you around people which may be super beneficial.
