What my ex-boyfriends taught me

With every relationship comes tremendous growth and a crap ton of lessons. Here are some things I learned throughout the years of being in long-term relationships:

1. Have grace for things you don’t understand about your partner. They do things for certain reasons - it’s your choice to CHOOSE to understand their why - or not.

2. Vulnerability is a good thing. I used to think it was a slippery slope but I’ve come to understand that you literally have nothing to lose when it comes to your vulnerability. They either understand you or…..it’s their loss. You are worth being loved.

3. NEVER. I mean NEVER change who you are for the sake of keeping a relationship.

4. NEVER expect your partner to change through your actions. It’s either they want to change for themselves or nothing at all. There is no in between.

5. Don’t hold back. Be honest. You’ll regret not giving your all to your partner, and the guilt stays there for a while….trust me.
