SEVENS KISSATEN - JAPANESE-INSPIRED CAFE.

After I had a great experience with seven cafe on Joo Chiat Rd, after that I have a good impression of Seven group. Found this cafe on Tiong Bahru Rd also from their group so I decided to try - Sevens Kissaten. Different from the Joo Chiat outlet, their concept and theme are Japanese restaurant style. Kissaten serves modest comfort meals to complement the Japanese teas that we source distinctively. They are focusing more purchasing philosophy of small-batch, artisan tea cultivated by tea farmers. With the concept of tea in the day, omasake at night. The cafe area closes at 5.30 pm every day, leaving the five-seater bar counter open for diners who have reserved their omakase menu

The cafe is located main of the road so you can easily see and find out with the HUGE sign outside the store. Opposite the Joo Chiat outlet, there is a minimalist vibe and elegance. Glass door design around the store makes the cafe looks very bright with natural lighting. The main color tones of the interior are white and beige, simple but elegant, above the ceiling is decorated with lanterns that look like giant balls.

What did I order?

✨ SALMON ANGEL HAIR PASTA: one of their signature dish, the salmon decorated in the shape of a flower look very beautiful and it was fresh and each slice of salmon was thick as well. The noodles were very chewy and light texture and I quite liked it, the portion size of the dish was good enough for me, and on top of the noodles and salmon, they put a lot of Ikura also.

✨CHICKEN STEW TOAST: It was the dish I was very excited to try when it was very unique and special, the chicken stew was put inside the huge toast, with potatoes, carrot, cheese, and mushroom inside. The stew soup was super creamy and flavourful, the chicken was tender such as super crazy and I love it so much. The toast outside was soft enough and mixed well when together with the soup.

✨ Lychee Rose: Of course when come here must order their tea, made by Sakura Sencha ǀ Lychee ǀ Lime. As you guys can see in my picture, the glass of tea looks very " Sakura " haha. Light tea taste and they gave us huge lychees on top of the tea.

Unfortunately, the cafe is Temporarily Closed and it is kinda sad for me. Overall the cafe is pretty great with good service and good food quality. Waiting for their return again!!!
