I’m back with another this or that. Not sure why but im chancing upon many similar pieces, so that gave me the idea to bring it back.

1. Cowl-neck effect dresses - FAYTH VS MAEVE

Both dresses have the cowl-neck effect but they are not cowl-neck iygwim. FAYTH’s Imori has a V-neck as compared to Elise, from MAEVE, which has a straight-neck. Both are midi length, fit and flare cutting with adjustable straps. I own Elise personally and I love the fabric of it. It’s really soft and cooling to the skin. Elise feels like it was made for Singapore’s weather. Besides, the fabric, it also comes with removable paddings. 😮‍💨😮‍💨

2. V-neck vest top - LOVET vs SUPERGURL

Vest is so in trend right now and every store is launching it but i have to give it to Supergurl cos of the material used and cutting. Vest is originated from menswear so feminine elements like lower-cut, cropped length, bust ducts are very important.

This type of vest, if fabric was not chosen correctly or cutting is not top notch, you may end up being mistaken as a wait staff 🫤 NGL. I really really like how Supergurl used linen instead of polyester for this top, compared to the other stores. Many vests tops come in polyester, pockets and a conservative V-neck, which is a NO-NO for me.

To make it less wait staff,

- V-neck needs to be low enough, yet not too low (v difficult i know) and not too wide

- No non-functional/functional pockets please, we are not keeping any paper/notepad inside for order taking

- Make it as informal as possible like changing the material to something more casual, say linen. Linen would be a better option than polyester, i feel.
