for context, my friend & i went in end-july. prices are per pax in sgd (unless stated otherwise)! 💵

✈️ flight to danang via vietjet: $311.77

(eco from sin -> dad, deluxe from dad -> sin)

🚗 airport transfer from da nang airport to laluna hoi an hotel: 20 USD for a car, booked from hotel directly. imagine the SHOCK on our faces when a VAN came to pick us up. it could hold so many people but it was just the 2 of us 🤣🤣

🏨 hotel: ~$79.93 per person for 2 nights

they welcomed us with watermelon juice 🍉 & let me tell you guys… watermelon HITS DIFFERENT in vietnam!!! IT WAS SO GOOD i doubted it was watermelon. so sweet & smooth. we ended up ordering watermelon juice for most of our meals for the rest of the trip 🤤🤤 the room was a little smaller than we thought but there was still sufficient space to open our luggage. they have all the bath amenities you need 🧼 aircon was good. overall, clean & cosy & the staff are friendly. they will greet you every time & are always ready to help you/give you suggestions on what to do/eat! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ would suggest you consider staying here!

explored old town (7 mins walk from hotel) & here are a few recommended shops to check out:

1. reaching out teahouse + arts & crafts 🍵

100, 000 VND (~$5.30) per person for your personal teapot and choice of snacks.

2. sunday in hoi an

3. metiseko

4. tiredcity

we bought 3 scarfs for the price of 2. $10.56 per person & i took the extra scarf. not the cheapest but these were designed by local artists!

there’s a lot to see by just walking around & looking at the attractions such as the cantonese assembly hall

we had dinner at anabas to try the local cuisine/hoi an specialties! ordered cao lau 🐷 & my quang noodles 🦐 and paid $13.41 in total (slightly higher bc i paid with card & there was a small fee incurred) 💳🥲 i prefer strong flavoured cuisine (think, thai) so i found the food to be more on the bland side. i loved squeezing the lime into the noodles but it became the only thing i could taste. it made me think i was living healthily, esp when we had to walk a lot too 😜 although these were hoi an specialties, the dishes felt familiar, it’s smth that singaporeans would enjoy! almost like homecooked vibes

🛶 after dinner we went on the boat tour & booked thru klook for $6.35 per person. the boat ride was abt 20 mins long. queue was very long but moved fast. herbal tea provided was very cold & very diluted by the ice 🥶 boat man was friendly & would help you take pictures and when to release the lantern 🏮 a bit underwhelming … the river was super crowded with boats too.

we explored the night market on the other side of the river afterwards. that was when we experienced haggling & our first time was a disaster 😵

feel free to ask any questions about my trip & let me know if you want to see day 👀
