#2 IN QUEUE: booking our flat in 18 HOURS?!

Last month, we finally bought a house thru HDB’s Opening Booking of Flats (obf) and we were 2ND in queue!!!

This was our 2nd time applying for obf and 3rd time applying for a HDB scheme - during the 1st obf application, we camped for 1-2 hrs infront of the computer trying to refresh the pages…. AND GOT 1800+ in queue no. Our 2nd application was a sbf exercise, and even though we got 2x chance WE DIDNT EVEN GET A QUEUE NUMBER 😡

Tbh we have no tips on how to get such a good queue number, all we can say is that it’s really purely luck. Internet connection and the methods during application doesn’t really matter. But this time, we 👀 didn’t constantly refresh the same page. 👀 We opened a few SAME tabs on the application page and clicked next one by one on each tab, and waited which tab loaded first. AND REPEAT! We got the queue number within 10mins ☺️

Since the booking of flats were in 18 hours from the time we applied, (we also didn’t expect to get a decent q number let alone #2 ?!) we were quite panicky when we researched the necessary documents we needed to provide THE NEXT DAY. Plus, there were a lot of things going through my overthinking mind:

💭 “Omg I really need to get married to this guy, am I ready, am I sure?!”

💭 “We don’t even have our 3 or 12 months payslip or our HLE letter, how?!”

💭 “Are we 2nd or 12th in queue?!”

💭 “Tomorrow need to pay downpayment?!”

The answers we got after attending the appt are:

😳 We have 1 month’s time to provide our 12 months payslip through the HDB portal and to apply for HLE! (For uncompleted flat, idk about completed flats)

😳 We will only need to pay our downpayment 6-9 months from our 1st appointment date!

😳 We are 2nd in queue!! Obf’s queue number starts from 0011 and we were 0012.

🫣 I’m sure my bf is the one for me HAHAHA

SO WHAT DID WE BRING AND HOW MUCH DID WE PAY ON OUR FIRST APPOINTMENT?

1. Gf and bf’s CPF statements

2. Gf and bf’s NRIC

3. Bf’s 3 months payslips

4. $2000 option fee (different amt for different hdb sizes)
