I’m officially two months postpartum and thought I’d share my body before and after baby…
I gained 43lbs while pregnant with my baby girl!
Before I got pregnant, I was underweight at about 110lbs. I’m 5’5” and my doctors always told me anywhere from 115-130lbs would be a healthy weight for my height.
Pre-pregnancy, I was stressed, working in nightlife, and only eating about one meal a day. With my fast metabolism, this resulted in me being consistently underweight. I felt insecure sometimes because of my smaller breasts/butt and not having the “thick” figure that it viewed as attractive in today’s world.
At my six week postpartum check-up, I weighed in at 126lbs, which I was happy about because I didn’t want to lose all my baby weight (I weighed 153lbs when my daughter was born).
I fit in size 28 jeans right now, when I’m normally a 25/size 2.
I have pretty mild stretch marks around my belly button and on my lower stomach, which developed in the last two weeks of pregnancy. I also have pretty severe stretch marks on my butt that developed in the last week of pregnancy. 😩
I also have diastasis recti (when your abs separate during pregnancy), which I’ve been working on closing with a postpartum belly band.
My Linea Nigra (line on my belly) hasn’t faded yet and my belly button is dark around it.
I have less tone and my butt flattened out due to the loss of glute muscle that commonly gets lost postpartum. 🍑
Now that I am cleared for exercise, I plan on building my glutes up, gaining my tone back, and tightening the skin on my belly.🏋🏼♂️🏃🏼♀️
I am trying to keep my caloric and protein intake up for milk production and to keep a healthy weight. 🥑🥗🍗🥜🥥🫐🥦🥩🥚🍠
I love my larger breasts, wider hips, and thicker body.
I have never felt more confident in myself than I do now! Being a mommy has given me a new sense of purpose that has also given me a confidence I’ve never felt before. 💖
