Affordable Lunch Spot at Somerset

📍Today I tried...Da Shi Jia Big Prawn Mee

💭 Thoughts:

This hidden gem is tucked away at Killiney Road, occupying a shophouse unit that’s partially air conditioned. There was a short queue when I arrived (2pm on a Friday), and the restaurant was full of tourists with some locals. I ordered the shrimp combo ($10+) which came with lots of ingredients like fish cake, meatballs and pork rib. There are many types of noddles to choose from, with my choice being yellow noodles and bee hoon, which soaked up the prawn broth. The two large prawns that came were JUICY and FRESH 😋, and the rest of the ingredients were well made too. The broth was rich, but light as well, making it easy to drink and very umami.

🤔Would go again?

I would visit again if I was in Somerset, but would not head down specifically. I initially thought it was quite expensive for prawn noodles, but it proved very value for money considering the various ingredients inside. Furthermore, they accept CDC vouchers too, which made this free for me 🤭
