You knows it’s good when it’s highly-rated on Tabelog (food review site by Japanese) and when there’s a snaking long lines outside the store. Here’s the 3 best stores I’ve tried 🍜
1️⃣ Kagari Ramen Ginza (3.7 🌟 on Tabelog)
Japanese noodle shop that specializes in chicken based soba. It is a Michelin-gourmand ramen shop tucked in a small alley in Ginza. I went for the Special Chicken Paitan ramen with fresh truffles (33,000 yen) and it comes with a side dish. The soba is soft and chewy and the soup is flavourful.
2️⃣ Fūunji
We got the Tsukemen dipping noodles (800 yen). I went before their opening time (11AM) and there was already a long queue outside. Fuunji makes its broth by simmering chicken bones, katsuo (tuna) and kombu (seaweed). It is served with a dash of smoky dashi powder. It was sooo thick and flavour-packed and noodles were firm. It comes in: S,M,L. The price is the same regardless of size. This stores uses a vending machine order system so bring remember to bring cash!
3️⃣ Kyushu Jangara Ginza
Kyushu Jangara is a popular ramen restaurant which is known for its pork bone ramen. I ordered the Kyushu ramen and the soup was so rich and creamy. The pork flavour broth wasn’t too overpowering too which was amazing. Chashu was thick and tender too!
