A MUST TRY for the matcha lovers ୧ ‧₊˚ 🍵 ⋅

This might be a little different from my usual content but we don’t gatekeep the good stuff right? 😋

Earlier this week, I ate at Maccha House @ Orchard Central for the first time & it was really bussin - of course I have to share! As someone who is not very fond of matcha, this one hit different.

WHAT WE ORDERED:

We ordered the pair set meal (2nd slide), where we get $10 off the total bill for 2 pax - GREAT DEAL BTW!

🍵 Mains (2x)

1. Carbonara Inaniwa Udon (top left of 1st slide)

~ Inaniwa-style udon noodles in cream sauce with onsen tamago, cheese, bacon & mushrooms

This dish was rich and creamy, and the noodles had a nice chewy texture. The seasoned bacon added a nice crunch, making this carbonara inaniwa udon a nice twist on a classic.

2. Mentaiko Carbonara Udon with Onsen Egg

~ Udon in mentaiko-infused cream sauce with bacon, parmesan cheese and onsen egg

The dish was also very rich and creamy, with the mentaiko flavor just right—not overwhelming, but adding a nice kick. The thicker, chewy noodles were really satisfying, and the bacon and egg were seasoned and cooked just right.

If you’re someone who prefers sweet over bitter matcha like me, you should try this! It’s not too sweet & it’s still slightly bitter, but I think it’s a perfect blend.

🍵 Dessert (1x)

We shared the Maccha Cheesecake and Anmitsu! (I forgot to snap a pic im sorry HAHAH)

~ Smooth and creamy no-bake cheesecake with rice crispies, cream cheese and maccha powder. Served with traditional Japanese dessert anmitsu and kuromitsu syrup.

I LOVED THIS! I especially loved the taste of the cheesecake with the rice crispies - it was not too sweet & the maccha flavour was great and not overwhelming :3 The side of anmitsu also helps to ensure that the dessert doesn’t taste jelak (overwhelmingly rich feeling in the mouth, translates to ‘boring’ in malay).

Overall, everything was really good, tasty & worth your money! The price range per pax would likely be around $20-$25 after discount!
