book review: a good girl's guide to murder 🔪

today's book will be a debut novel by Holly Jackson, which is A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder! intrigued? keep on reading!

i picked this up because i heard so many good reviews about it despite being a debut novel. i also heard that this book was special in a way that makes you feel like you’re investigating the murder together with the main character. the MC is a student who was doing her FYP project about a missing/murder of two seniors at her school with the help of the victim’s younger brother.

truthfully, it is what they said! i was satisfied with the writing. some scenes were written as the third person POV, while some scenes were written as the first person POV. this book also gives you the experience of yourself investigating the murder since the author provided all the necessary materials that the MC uses for the FYP entries. you can see yourself in the picture i uploaded there!! its so cool like i really felt like i was there with them 🤣

the overall plot and suspense while reading this was just nice. it wasnt a really dark thriller i would say but for starters, its really a good mystery book if you want something lighter yet intimidating 👀 the final ending was somewhat of a cliffhanger because some things werent explained fully but it all goes down to the next books in the series by Holly!

i gave this book a straight 5 ⭐!!! well deserved and yall definitely need to read it as well!
