My hair is broken and dry - how I take care of it.

I’ve been blonde since 7th grade - I’ve had short hair since 10th grade. With how bleached my hair is, I didn’t think I could grow my hair out… but here I am! This is the longest it’s been in 12 years and I’m loving the process.

Even my breakage has been growing out, as you can see the “layers” where my hair had burned off in some spots. I’ve been taking so much better care of my hair.

For one, I let my air air-dry 80% of the way before I blow dry. Then I finish off drying, and I use a heat protectant spray by FoxyBye. I brush using a wet de-tangling brush, so my hair doesn’t break while I’m brushing. I apply a L’Anza treatment to my hair to smooth it off. And to style, I use a heat protectant hairspray by Beachwaver - it protects my hair from UV rays, any other styling I want to do, and it doesn’t make my hair crispy.

But one of the biggest changes I made is sleeping with a silk scarf at night. I got one from Amazon (they range from $30-$50, depending on size and quality). It’s been a total game changer, and has been protecting my hair like crazy.

I can’t wait to see my hair keep growing. I’m getting a hair cut soon to cut off the dead ends, and we’ll go from there 😁❤️
