Hidden tide pools in Pismo Beach

Welcome to the stunning South Palisades Park located in Pismo Beach California!

Time your visit around 7 am, when the tide ebbs and reveals the hidden treasures of the tide pools!

As you explore the rugged shoreline, you'll encounter a vibrant marine world not easily visible from the just driving by! Walk along the park pathway until you find a stair case leading down to the beach.

Here you’ll find sea stars nestled in the rocks, while hermit crabs scuttle around seeking shelter. Admire the super colorful anemones, swaying with the waves and keep your eye out for some beautiful sea shells to collect as well!

Occasionally you’ll find a octopus blending seamlessly with its surroundings, along with shimmering sea slugs, definitely something you don’t see everyday!

Before your adventure, always check the tide schedules and make sure you have appropriate footwear for the rocky terrain. Best time to come out here is early in the morning!
