Thai Tai: A Hidden Gem in Zhong Shan Mall - Here’s My Review of Their Delicious Thai Food!

I recently went to Jewel Music Box in Balestier for karaoke, which I highly recommend! It cost $15 per person for 3 hours, and the sound system was surprisingly good for the price. *This price comes with unlimited drinks and snacks too! Their drinks were okay! They have my fav Minute Maid orange 😆 but their snacks were disappointing but it’s okay it was complimentary. For $15, there’s really nothing to complain about this ktv.*

Afterward, my family and I stumbled upon Thai Tai 泰太 at Zhong Shan mall for dinner. We chose the 2-person combo that included 2 main dishes, 1 side dish, 1 salad, 2 drinks, and a dessert of the day (no choice given). Before ordering, we compared the price of the combo to ordering a la carte and ultimately chose the combo based because of the dessert of the day - I was hoping for mango sticky rice and got lucky that they had extra mango that day. The dessert was the best thing I had on that day. It was very tasty. The mango was fresh, and the RICE, THE RICE, has this fragrant aroma. When I pair the coconut milk, the sticky rice and the mango together, all the flavours blend so well together, burst and melted in my mouth. 💋

Coming back, the combo sets had limited options and some mains required an additional top-up. We ordered a seafood tomyum, a pad thai with chicken and prawns, wrapped chicken, and spring rolls for our meal.

All of the food was delicious, and the tomyum surprised me. I usually hate tomyum because I don't like sour tastes, but it had a perfect balance of mild sourness and spiciness. It comes with a generous amount of cockles and a well-cooked maggie — all the ingredients complement the tomyum soup well!

The noodles in the pad thai were chewy and smooth, and the chicken was tender and well-marinated.

The spring rolls were crispy, and the wrapped chicken was tasty but ordinary.

We spent less than $45 for three people, which was a good value for the quality of the food, but it might not be enough for those who eat more. I would return to Thai Tai for their delicious Thai food if I am in the area again!
