Best exhibition of SAW 2023 imo

Level 1 is pretty sus, with R18 materials iirc.

Level 2 on the other hand, is much more family friendly so if you’re going with kids, perhaps just go straight to level 2 😂

But I’d say this is the most well curated exhibition in Singapore Art Week 2023, where the exhibits are thought provoking, meaningful and comfortably spaced out for ease of weaving through the gallery space.

There are 2 sections (or you can say floors) to this exhibition, which is called “For the House; Against the House: _____ is Dead”

The blank in the name are the 2 sections, which encourages debate on whether if:

1. Museum is Dead

2. Desire is Dead.

The most interesting aspect about this exhibition is where a featured art piece is an actual human walking about the gallery and playing a character. Ironically, I’ve forgotten his name although he repeated it countless of times 😅

When he first approached my friends and I with his bubbly character, and with a relatively bold uniform, we mistook him as a staff/gallery sitter (which tbh, its also not wrong).

Basically he’s both a gallery sitter and an art piece 😂 — aiya you go already then you’ll know what I mean.

Unfortunately I didnt manage to get a photo with/off him but you’ll definitely spot him when you’re there 👀
