Ectopic Pregnancy Awareness: My Personal Journey

In 2023, I experienced two ectopic pregnancies that changed my life forever. The first happened in June, and the second in October. Unfortunately, I lost my left fallopian tube, but thanks to my incredible doctor, my right tube was saved.

Ectopic pregnancies occur when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, most commonly in the fallopian tubes. The scary reality is that diagnosing them is increasingly difficult. Many women, like myself, are dismissed or misdiagnosed because the symptoms can mimic other conditions. This delay in diagnosis can have devastating consequences, and it’s why I want to emphasize how important it is to advocate for yourself. You are not crazy—if something feels off, push for the care you deserve.

For me, the road to healing included undergoing a hysterosalpingogram (HSG), a procedure that unclogged my right tube, allowing me the chance to conceive again. I can’t express how crucial this procedure was, along with the support of the role models I encountered, and God’s guidance throughout this journey.

Now, I am beyond grateful to share that my rainbow baby is on the way, due in February 2025. Against all odds and with only one functioning tube, we conceived. If you’re going through something similar, please know there’s hope. Never stop fighting for your health and well-being. 🌈
