A Wonderful Date in Frankenmuth, Michigan

This weekend, my husband and I enjoyed a delightful day in Frankenmuth, Michigan, a charming little Bavarian town that feels like stepping into a storybook. Our adventure began with an exclusive experience at the Frankenmuth Historical Museum, where we delved into the rich history of this unique area.

After exploring the museum's ten galleries, we hopped aboard “Lucy,” the nostalgic trolley, for a 45-minute guided tour. Our local tour guide brought the town's history to life, sharing fascinating stories about the oldest building, dating back to 1880, and the poignant 9/11 memorial. One of the highlights was passing by the year-round gingerbread house—it’s as enchanting as it sounds!

Frankenmuth is more than any one tradition; it’s nostalgic and new, all coming together for unforgettable moments. For every iconic experience like trips to two of Michigan’s top indoor water parks, world-famous chicken dinners, and Christmas cheer year-roundthere’s something out-of-the-ordinary to match it.

We enjoyed clinking steins of good, cold German beer with fellow festival-goers and tasted our first sip of Christmas Town Ale on a tour using the Bavarian Bierpass. We also admired the town on a classic horse-drawn carriage ride and explored its charm on the 16-person PedAle Trolley.

And we can't forget to mention Bronner's, the largest Christmas store in the world! It’s a festive wonderland filled with holiday decorations, gifts, and a delightful atmosphere year-round.
