Poem for new moms - postpartum

A poem I wrote in the first year of my son’s life. Something we talk about often enough. Moms are always told there is an instant connection and bond when you deliver your child, but that is often not the case and for some it takes time. Connection and bond grows and develops over time. We forget as moms that we experienced a traumatic event in our life and that by itself takes some time to recover from. ❤️ it’s ok that bonding can take some time.
