I did a mistake at work! How did I deal with it? 😅

Hi corporate gurlies! 💅✨ Have you ever made a mistake at work and panicked over it? 😭 It could be something small or maybe major, but you just don’t know how to deal with it 🥲

Well, I had this experience and wanted to share a bit with you guys! Basically, I was supposed to send a document to another team but it slipped my mind as I had too many other things going on 😅 Thankfully, there was no major impact but it did cause some delay as the other team couldn’t start until I sent that document.

So, how did I deal with this mistake?

✨ Own up to it

I realised it was my fault and I apologised to my supervisor and the other team, for the delay. It wasn’t easy to admit my mistake, definitey hurt my ego…but I knew that it was something I had to do

✨ Learn from it

Since I realised the cause of it was that I have too many things going on, I learnt to be extra cautious and organized. Whenever I have any tasks (although it’s small), I’ll still put it in my Teams Planner to ensure I don’t forget anything.

✨ Be kind to yourself

To be honest, this mistake I made was months ago and wasn’t very major but because I’m someone who is quite a perfectionist, I still remember this mistake and was quite harsh upon myself. It took me a while, but I learnt to be kinder to myself.

Everyone makes mistakes — we are human. But what we can do, is learn from it and try to minimize it!
