I KENA SCAMMED BY THIS HAIR SALON 😭💔💸💸💸💸

having teal/green balayage for a year now (initially it was blue💙 but it faded to teal/green💚 - read this post for my honest review!), i wanted a fresh new look & colour. i did my research, compiled a list of "affordable" hair salons in SG, & decided to go for Color Bar Hair Salon , as their prices stood out the most amongst the rest in my list. TURNS OUT, i've overpaid A LOT, & I AM UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED by the whole experience & outcome. 💔😭👎

📋 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗥 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠 𝗔𝗖𝗖:

- $148 for unlimited bleaching + colour + treatment

- i enquired them via whatsapp, sent them photos of my previous hair colour (before dyeing at their salon) & photos of what i wanted (as seen in pic 5) - purple chunky highlights.

- admin booker said it's possible to do what i wanted, but must go there then see how. perhaps i shld hv clarified "FOR $148"???

💸 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜 𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗘𝗡𝗗:

$10 (booking deposit)

➕$138 ("highlights" 🤨)

➕$180 (stronger bleaching than the original which can bleach out my acidic green hair)

➕$40 (treatment #️⃣1 for hair)

➕$40 (treatment #️⃣2 for end of hair/split ends)

🟰$408 TOTAL 💸😭

($408/$148x100% = 275.7% MORE THAN WHAT WAS ADVERTISED 🤡🤡🤡)

👎 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦 𝗜'𝗠 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗗 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛:

1️⃣ 𝙉𝙊 𝙏𝙍𝘼𝙉𝙎𝙋𝘼𝙍𝙀𝙉𝘾𝙔 𝙊𝙁 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙋𝙍𝙄𝘾𝙀 🏷️

- admin booker didn't clarify with me the cost for the purple chunky highlights that i wanted. all they can say is go to their salon to see first then can quote 😇. this shld have been the first RED FLAG 🚩🚩🚩 but i didn't think much at that point.

- but guess what, after they bleached my hair (1 chunk with their normal bleach, & another chunk with their stronger bleach), hairstylist then tell me the breakdown & the total wld be $408. 👹

- when the hairstylist break down the total cost, i actually clarified why must $138 be added to the $180 + $80 (the 2 hair treatments) but hair stylist didn't ans my qn well. 😀

- towards the end of the whole experience, he then say the $138 was for the highlights design, which i shld have told him i came here for the "unlimited bleaching + colour + treatment" for $148.

2️⃣ 𝙉𝙊 𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙈𝙐𝙉𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝘽𝙀𝙏𝙒𝙀𝙀𝙉 𝘼𝘿𝙈𝙄𝙉 & 𝙃𝘼𝙄𝙍𝙎𝙏𝙔𝙇𝙄𝙎𝙏 📡

- when i arrived there, hairstylist had to ask me what i wna dye today, which made me so 😀??? because i literally sent references to the admin booker to enquire.

- so why was this not communicated between them??? 😨

3️⃣ 𝙇𝘼𝘾𝙆 𝙄𝙉 𝙀𝙓𝙋𝙀𝙍𝙄𝙀𝙉𝘾𝙀 🚼

- the salon had 4 employees there - the main hairstylist, & 3 assistants.

- 2 assistants (both china male employees) were very inexperienced.

- admin booker doesn't have any knowledge or experience as well - no further information or details on what i wanted to dye. this goes back to the 1st point on 1️⃣ as well.

- paying $408 for inexperienced hairstylists is CRAZY LAH 😭

4️⃣ 𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙋𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙋𝙍𝙄𝘼𝙏𝙀 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙎𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉𝙎 🤮

- 1 of the china male employee (the oldest out of everyone) was rather weird? kept saying how he wna treat me to a meal, go out with me, go back to china with him so that i can get big ang pao from his family like WTF. 🤮

- did i want to entertain? obvly not - i keep saying no & keep giving the disgusted look. but the conversation just pops up multiple times.

- basically a PERVERT. 🤮🤮

5️⃣ 𝙈𝙔 𝙃𝘼𝙄𝙍 𝙆𝙀𝙉𝘼 𝙋𝙐𝙇𝙇𝙀𝘿 𝙈𝙐𝙇𝙏𝙄𝙋𝙇𝙀 𝙏𝙄𝙈𝙀𝙎 👩🏻‍🦲

- ive nvr experienced such pain when bleaching/dyeing my hair at salons. did sound out sometimes with "ahh" but that's all i can do.

- especially the top front part of my scalp - got pulled while dyeing the purple on. obvly it hurt. it's already balding there but they made it more bald 😭😭💔💔

6️⃣ 𝙃𝘼𝙍𝘿𝙎𝙀𝙇𝙇 💰

- idk how many times i said NO to buying their package/membership, buying their purple shampoo, & cutting/trimming my hair (additional $20).

- gaslighted me by saying smth like "uw your hair to fade to yellow? udw then buy our purple shampoo". 😭

- tried to not want to go for the treatment #️⃣2 as i rlly wanted to lighten the total cost but in the end got gaslighted again & said "oh then your hair ends will break". 😭

7️⃣ 𝘾𝙊𝙇𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝘿𝙄𝘿 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝘾𝙊𝙈𝙀 𝙊𝙐𝙏 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙒𝘼𝙔 𝙄 𝙒𝘼𝙉𝙏𝙀𝘿 🟣

- photo references that i showed were of a cooler tone of purple, but results turned out to be warm purple, or like prune/plum purple instead. 🥲

8️⃣ 𝙒𝘼𝙉𝙏𝙀𝘿 "𝘾𝙃𝙐𝙉𝙆𝙔" 𝙃𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙇𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏𝙎 𝘽𝙐𝙏 𝙄𝙏 𝙏𝙐𝙍𝙉𝙀𝘿 𝙊𝙐𝙏 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝘾𝙃𝙐𝙉𝙆𝙔 🦨

- if u compare the ref photo & the actual, u can literally tell.

- basically the blacks⚫️ are thicker than the purples🟣.

9️⃣ 𝘿𝙄𝙎𝙃𝙊𝙉𝙀𝙎𝙏 𝙍𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙀𝙏𝙄𝙌𝙐𝙀𝙏𝙏𝙀𝙎 ⭐️

- forced me to give them a 5-star rating on their google maps. 🤡

- i said "huh idk what to write", "can i go home then read i need to think", but they obvly want to see what i wrote first or else i can't leave. 👹

- if u actually see my review there i changed my rating to 1-star cos obvly, paying $408 is not worth at all.

- asked me if i was happy with the results, obvly i had to say yes or else what r they gna do abt wtv that's alr done 👹? obvly i wna faster leave the place also. 🏃🏻‍♀️

🔟 𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙂𝙐𝘼𝙂𝙀 𝘽𝘼𝙍𝙍𝙄𝙀𝙍 (𝘼 𝘽𝙄𝙏 𝙇𝘼𝙃 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙈𝙀) 💬

- my mandarin isn't the strongest, & certain words/terms they used can't wrap ard my head.

- literally all 3 male employees cant speak english, only 1 malay female can, but she's just an assistant so wtv that's conveyed to me isn't her, but the main hairstylist.

- if my mandarin was stronger, OR if they cld speak better english, i'd have clarified everyth i wanted to know.

- so if u can't chinese, GG alr. basically just don't come here lah.

- the pervert china uncle smokes & bro he's so smelly especially when he wrap the barber sheets around me.

🗯️ 𝗠𝗬 𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗘𝗗:

- read. google. reviews. thoroughly. omg this was my repeated mistake sia 2nd time alr 😭 (first time was thru this beauty salon which i wrote abt 🤡)

- if they aren't transparent thru texts, they aren't gna be transparent irl too. 😭

- DON'T pay for the $10 booking deposit first - actually head down to the salon to clarify before actually booking the appointment!

- so many 5-star rating for a hair salon is also a 🚩.

- keep clarifying, keep asking qns until u 100% fully understand.

- DO A MORE THOROUGH RESEARCH (i.e. i didn't realise they restrict they comments section until someone kind told me 😭)

- ask for t&c, esp the refund procedure - this serves as an "insurance" for yourself to back yourself up!

- VOICE RECORD TURN 🔛🔊. if they luvvvv talking on the phone & not texting, RED FLAG 🚩🚩🚩.

- ask & confirm price first before letting them touch your hair!

with this post, i rlly hope to get a 50% REFUND. $408 for such service is literally DAYLIGHT ROBBERY. if i'm paying wayyyy lesser for this result i wldnt even be complaining. even ik better salons who can do for a lower price & a way bttr work. but all i came here for was wanting to pay for the $148 first-timer promotion. 😭🤡 pls la i'm just a broke student 😭💸
