BKK tourist scam

YES. My friend got scammed at BKK... by a Caucasian. 😵‍💫

🚨 What happened:

So we were getting metro tickets to take the train and we went in a big group but gotta separate to get the tickets at the individual ticketing machine. And it was soooo crowded so we just somehow got separated. My friend was alone and suddenly got approached by a Caucasian man, with his young daughter (she looks like she's 8?). So then what happen was that he asked my friend where he is from, so my friend replied saying he's from SG. He then asked if my friend can show him how SGD looks like and my friend said he dont have SGD with him now. Then what got so suspicious is, he asked my friend to show him how 1000THB looks like, when we are in Thailand.... (huh?? you mean you never see 1000THB before when you are here standing at BKK metro station???) 🚩

Then my friend just showed him the 1000THB 😭 The man took it and kissed the 1000THB and returned to my friend (um??? its giving black magic idk) 😭 then told my friend that he's not a bad person... my friend didnt even ask.

Then it stopped here coz we were finding my friend to tap into the metro (technically saved him but also a bit too late coz we didnt realise until now). Btw he and his daughter was 'coincidentally' at the same platform as us. 🤨🤨🤨

Then the next day my friend found out that he left very little cash, and he was v confused coz he didnt even spend that much.... Then we didnt think of anything la. Then fast forward back at SG suddenly we came across this tiktok with many people having the same experience saying about how these caucasian scammers or just scammers who did the same thing scam tourists. They ask to see the $$ coz THEY WNA SEE WHERE YOU TAKE YOUR WALLET OUT FROM!!!! 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 then pickpocket you.

Ya then after we send the tt to the gc, my friend who was scammed said that no wonder he found it so sus bcoz when he was talking to the caucasian guy, the daughter kept standing behind him (probably to pick pocket him when he's distracted by her dad)

🚨 What you should do when you encounter this:

Ignore and walk away, ensure your belongings and items are secured with you.

Yes everyone in Thailand can be nice but be nice to the right people 😮‍💨
