we almost got cheated & abducted in bangkok?! 🥵

okay took me a while to get my brain together to do this post but we almost got cheated & potentially abducted in bkk!!! 😭 so in order to alert all of yall going to bkk for your year-end trip, you gotta remember these 5 tips & learn from my experience so that you don't kena the same thing 🥹

1️⃣ 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱

water is generally clean in bkk, but we are more cautious about drinking from tap water there, especially if you're eating from the street food. also because my partner has a weaker stomach, so we prefer to play it safe. what we did was to fill your bottles at the hotel, or get bottled water from the hotel or 7-11!!

2️⃣ 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁

we've heard of cases where police might check your passport & also some attractions might need passport as well. so if you wanna make sure that your passport is safe, just photocopy your passport & carry that copy with you!! we didn't encounter any checks, but some attractions did tell us to show our passport.

3️⃣ 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴

okay we searched this up before heading to bkk because when visiting the temples, they are very particular about the dressing!! even though they do provide cover-ups, it's more advisable to wear covered clothing. so for someone like me who wears alot of sleeveless & cropped tops, i packed more conservative clothes along 🤭

4️⃣ 𝗯𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

this is the part where we almost got cheated!!! we had plans to go to the grand palace but when we came out of the public transport, we realised that we landed on the opposite end 🫠 and the best part was THERE WAS LITERALLY NO NOISE OR RUCKUS coming out from the grand palace, which made us wonder if it's opened. just as we looked confused, a local came up to us & told us that the grand palace was closed & wanted to recommend us another attraction to visit 🌚 we almost wanted to follow okie!!! until we just decided to do a google search & saw that there was still people walking in the direction of the grand palace 👀 so we quickly just walked away from the guy!!

in the end when we went back to our hotel, we then searched up about the scams in bkk & found out that this was one of them 🥵

5️⃣ 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝘅𝗶 & 𝘁𝘂𝗸𝘁𝘂𝗸 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝘃𝘆

grab & bolt are definitely the safest options for you!! but if you wanna experience tuktuk, make sure to negotiate for the price okie!! BUT BE NICE ABOUT IT - know that they're trying to earn a living as well. so what we did was to check the prices on grab + an inflation for tuktuk because they run on fuel. one tip is to make sure that yall AGREE ON THE PRICE before you board.
