Snacks review & haul ❣️ Butterbear from Thailand 🧸🇹🇭

If you’re a fan of all things cute, you may have seen this super viral bear around 🧸 Butterbear went viral sometime this year and is now pretty much as famous as a (human) Thai celeb 😭 as an OG fan from last year (I feel like I need to prove myself so screenshot posted at the end), it BREAKS my heart to see all the LONG queues around the store and the INSANE crowd around this… clothed bear suit with a human in it 🥲

ANYWAY enough ranting, Butterbear has opened a NEW store at Siam Paragon, which is so much more convenient. Seeing how Siam Paragon is a must-go for every tourist, I’m sure you’ll relate! Emsphere is super boring so Siam Paragon is definitely a better option.

However with a new store it means INSANELY long queues and insane hype! But is it really worth it 🤔 I got most of the items that are less fragile (aka will survive the plane ride home) which means no brownies or soft item. Which also means… mostly cookies. Here are some of the snacks I got!

1) Assorted cookies in a tin box

A range of super fragrant butter cookies that are not too sweet! 10/10 would recommend. All of them are dry cookies with no filling, and really crispy. Well received amongst family members (including elderly!)

2) Butter sand cookies

I feel like this is their version of the famous Japanese Shiroi Koibito 白い恋人 cookies. It has a much more liquidy filling unfortunately, but sliiiiiightly less sweet than Shiroi Koibito. Not my go-to snack for sure!

3) Milk butter cookie bottle

I strangely expected it to be a glass bottle so when I lifted it up and realised it was plastic, I was strangely disappointed LMAO 😭 it just felt a bit cheap unfortunately, so I wouldn’t recommend it as a gift! Although it being a plastic bottle is definitely good for my luggage limit! It has a nice milky taste but it’s slightly sweeter compared to the cookies in the tin can! It’s not SWEET though, so this is still a nice one to munch on.

4) Maple butterscotch cookie

Other than the plastic bottle issue I mentioned above, flavour wise I’m not sure why but there was a sliiiiiight bitter taste after I finished the cookie. I’m not sure if it was just the one I had, but it’s just a subtle bitter aftertaste. You can taste the maple for sure though!

5) Lemon palmier

I’m not a palmier person but I somehow ended up buying it as well. Although it’s slightly sour, it still has much more sweetness to cover that sourness. It ended up being so sweet that I gave up on the lemon portion 😭 can’t imagine how sweet the other flavours must taste!

Overall I do love the assorted cookies in the tin box! But it’s definitely not worth the insane queue 😭 highly recommend you get it through Grab delivery when you’re in Bangkok though 🤭 yes! All their snacks are available on Grab. Why did I queue at the store? Beats me, I was an idiot with too much time 😭
