we had the best time in this AMAZING valley

Our day in Lauterbrunnen was definitely one of our favourite experiences of the trip! the valley was sooo scenic with towering mountains and waterfalls (there are apparently 72) surrounding it, we've never been to any place like this before!! 🤩

🚃GETTING THERE:

we took the train from Interlaken OST, check the SBB app for which train to take

🪂PARAGLIDING

there are no words to describe how amazing this experience was!! looking back at the pictures it still feels so surreal that we were up there looking over the valley. we saw a lot of paragliders at Interlaken but i think the views at Lauterbrunnen are better!

- booked our flight with AIRTIME paragliding 💰190CHF/pax - this was a splurge, but it was worth it!!

- chose to meet the pilots at Lauterbrunnen (the other option was to meet at Mürren, we didn't choose this since it was off season and there was nothing to see at Mürren, if not you can meet them direct at Mürren and explore the town before since you won't be going up in that direction after your flight)

- took the cable car to Grütschalp and then a train to Mürren, we then had to walk quite a bit to the take off area but not complaining cos the pilots had to carry all the equipment up 🫡

🟢TIP try not to bring such a heavy bag as you have to carry it down with you on the flight (we brought backpacks and we were fine).

🟢wear clothes that you are ok to get dirty as the area might be muddy, they provided us with proper hiking boots cos the area was pretty slippery

🚶‍♀️TREKKING

- you will land in a town called STECHELBERG and from there you can either walk back to LAUTERBRUNNEN or take a bus back, we chose to hike and it was the BEST decision ever! it was quite a long hike (we took 3 hours incl a visit to TRÜMMELBACH falls) but the trail was soo beautiful the photos really doesn't do justice to the place, highly recommend trekking back if you're a nature lover! we even saw cows up close along the way.

🟢TIP pack lunch as there wasn't any restaurants/food stalls on the trail back

🌈TRÜMMELBACH FALLS 💰 14CHF/pax

- spend some time exploring this glacier waterfall, it was pretty cool as we could go inside the waterfall

✨️STAUBBACH FALLS

- this was our last stop on the trek as it's quite near the train staion. we only saw it from the viewpoint as we didn't have time, but you can actually get closer and walk behind the falls itself, would've loved to do this if we had more time!

and that's the end of our day at Lauterbrunnen! we only scraped the surface of this beautiful town and there's so much more to explore like Schilthorn and Birg (which weren't open when we were there) or nearby towns like Wengen and Männlichen.
