A super easy side dish that goes especially well with pork & chicken.
Step 1:
In a heavy bottom sauce pan add 2 Tbl butter, 3 Tbl brown sugar, 1 tsp garlic salt and a pinch of cayenne (optional).
Step 2:
Clean and peel 1 lb carrots and cut into fairly even batons about 5”-6” long. Place in pan.
Step 3:
Over medium heat, stir the carrots to coat as the butter/spice mixture melts.
Step 4:
Add 1/3 cup water, bring to a gentle boil and cover. Cook until carrots are fork tender and most of the water has evaporated (about 5 minutes). Add more water if needed a 1/4 C at a time to prevent the sugar mixture from burning. Garnish with fresh chives if desired and enjoy! 🥕
