How to taste wine at home

I’m having Chardonnay from the Boyle Family Vineyards California.

Do you enjoy wine but hardly try having your own wine tasting at home? I’m here to help you take your first step towards looking like a pro when you go out with the wine enthusiasts.

1. Read your label to see where the wine is from (region), grape varieties, and what year it was produced ( vintage).

2. Observe when pouring your wine to understand more about the look (hue) and possibly smells that come out instantly

3. Swirl to lift those aromas from the wine. Take note of a few notes that come to you when you smell it ( everyone smells differently based on past experiences)

4. Taste but but don’t rush to swallow. Feel the wine as it passes your tongue to the back of your mouth. Is it mouth full, smooth, watery, or just bitter? All that will help with your remembrance of that wine.

5. Take note of all the notes of smells and tastes you get when the wine hits your tongue. Was it an apple? Orange peal? Or even an unripe grape? Whatever the case, you are definitely a wine taster now!
