🔹 What is shakshuka? shakshuka is made of soft cooked eggs, gently poached or braised in a delicious chunky tomato and bell pepper sauce.
🔹 This dish is such a great brunch menu, you might want to try making one at home. Let’s start:
📌 Ingredients:
🔹 Onion
🔹 Garlic
🔹 Bell pepper
🔹 Tomato puree
🔹 Tomato lasta sauce
🔹 Cumin, paprika, salt and sugar
🔹 Eggs
🔹 Green onions
📌 Steps:
🔹 Start by sauteing chopped onions follow by grated garlic.
📌 Once the onions and garlic are fragrant and translucent, add in your bell peppers and stir until soft
📌 Next, add in a tablespoon of tomato puree and stir well
📌 Add crushed tomato pasta sauce and let cook for another 2 minutes without stirring
📌 Season with kosher salt, paprika, cumin and sugar and continue stirring for at least 3 minutes.
📌 Cover with the lid and let the sauce thickened a bit
📌 Next, make small holes in the the sauce and crack in 3 eggs.
📌 Cover with the lid again and let the eggs cook
📌The egg white should be well cooked and the yolk should be slightly runny.
📌 Topped with green onion and serve with bread
