Far East Plaza Food Hunting: Maddie’s Kitchen

Maddie’s Kitchen at Far East Plaza offers a great selection of local delights and Tze Char dishes, though it’s on the pricier side. Despite that, the quality of the food justifies the cost.

We ordered the Sotong Mee, Oyster Omelette, and Red Grouper Fish Soup, all of which impressed. The Sotong Mee stood out with its rich wok hey flavor. The noodles absorbed all the broth’s goodness, and the prawns and squid were incredibly fresh.

Their Oyster Omelette is a pleasant twist on the hawker-style dish. The egg and flour batter is pan-fried separately and served with medium-sized, juicy oysters on top, giving it a distinct texture and taste.

Lastly, the Red Grouper Fish Soup, to which we added fish maw, was another hit. The fish was fresh, thickly cut, and the soup was rich and flavorful.
