HOW TO NOT GET SCAMMED AT NAIL SALONS 😡😡😡

my friends and i went to do our nails earlier this week and we had a horrible experience there ☹️ is it just me or are all nail salons dishonest??!! (details in pic 2 and 3)

i’ve done my nails three times in total and every time without fail, i get scammed one way or another 😠😠

i’ve decided that I HAVE HAD ENOUGH and so here are some tips that i’ve compiled from my past experiences which will hopefully help you not to be scammed like me :(

1. ALWAYS ask for a quotation on your nail design beforehand and be firm about the final price. you could say something like: “okay so at the end of this session i will expect to only be paying $x amount”. be insistent about it and make sure that there are no hidden charges

2. every time they offer a new service (eg. cuticle cutting) ASK IF THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL CHARGE!! this can be a hassle and may make you seem really naggy but its worth saving your money for 💵💵 you’ll likely never see your nail artist ever again anyway so it won’t hurt to be a little thick skinned hehe 🤭🤭

3. do your research beforehand and avoid low rated salons or salons with little to no reviews. check 1 star reviews too and see what people have to say so you can be prepared and you’ll know what to expect!

4. BRING AN AUNTIE WITH YOU LOL. i realised that salons love to scam young people so if you go with an older person like your grandmother or your mum it might put them off. aunties are also really good at bargaining and are really kaypoh so they can help you ask all the questions you’re paiseh to ask HAHAHA

5. try to find well reviewed home based salons on instagram because it’s usually cheaper and they’re done by young people our age who are probably less likely to scam you!!
