June Reading Wrap Up✨🫧🌷

I just joined Lemon8 so this is a little late but here is my June reading wrap up + reviews!! Let’s me know if you’ve read/ want to read any of these :)

🌷Book name:The One

Author: John Marrs

Genre: Thriller

Intro: What happens in a world where you can learn who your “perfect match” is through your DNA.

My rating: 5 stars

My review: I loveddddd this book!! I honestly never knew what was coming next and there was a cliff hanger after every chapter. I do have to warn that there are about 4 different point of views and eight different main characters, so if you struggle to keep multiple POVs straight then this might not be the book for you. Honestly I usually hate multi pov books and it took me about 80 pages to finally get the characters straight but once I did it was amazing. This is for sure a book that can get you out of a reading slump.

🌷Book name: People to Follow

Author: Olivia Worley

Genre: YA thriller

Intro: A group of influencers are sent to an island to star in a new reality show where they will be disconnected from their phones and reality. What happens when things take a turn.

My rating: 5 stars

My review: I honestly really enjoyed this book but I can definitely see why some may not. It’s definitely a YA so if that bothers you then you might not like this. Though this book was pretty predictable it was such an easy and fun read and I honestly really enjoyed it. It seems like the author took some inspiration from actual online influencers/ groups. Basing many of these influencers off of dance moms and hype house creators, which made this book really fun to read.

🌷Book name: The Housemaid is Watching

Author: Freida McFadden

Genre: Thriller

My rating: 2 stars

The 3rd book in the housemaid series.

Review: Terrible. This was sooooo bad. I loveddd the first book in this series and thought the second was also pretty good. However, this book sucked. It was so unbelievably boring and repetitive. The twist was sooooo bad. I honestly think this is my least favorite Freida McFadden book…

Author: Shalini Boland

Genre: Thriller

Intro: what happens when the bride doesn’t recognize her fiancé at the alter.

my rating: 2 stars

My review: Terrible. It is such a fun concept and I really wanted to enjoy this but I just couldn’t it was written so poorly. The plot was boring. The twist was boring and unbelievable.

Author: Jeneva Rose

Genre: Thriller

Intro: three adult siblings go back home after their mothers affairs. When going through their old home videos they find a tape showing their parents with a dead body. What dark secrets are they about to uncover?

My rating: 3 stars

My review: I predicted what was gonna happen within the first 30 pages of this book. This was honestly a pretty boring and disappointing read.

Genre: Fantasy

My review: 3 stars

My review: honestly I’m not the biggest fantasy fan so take this with a grain of salt. This book was extremely boring and there was a couple hundred pages where I considered dnfing. I know a lot of people love this book but I just thought it was a drag

My review: This book was soooo good. I’m an extremely picky romance reader but this book was honestly adorable. This book was very entertaining and honestly really funny. 10/10 recommend
