how I survive on a salary of <$1,000 in France 🇫🇷

it's been almost a year living in a little village in the south of France and I've never been happier! During this year, I was only drawing a month salary of $1000 SGD a month doing a part time remote job.

And guess what? It was all I need to survive 🥹💜

I cut down so much on shopping, I wasn’t going out to eat as much, flight tickets to other European cities are so much more affordable and I started to adopt a minimalist mindset approach to life.

Yes, I won't have much savings but everyday I get to do fun things like gardening, hiking, exploring new cities and learning a new language! I guess this is what I want my life to be instead of fighting for a BTO, selling my soul to a company just to earn more money 🫠

Also, I’ve met many people (some even with kids) who don’t earn as much as my last drawn but are still happy and doing fine, honestly it’s life goals. I’d rather just be earning 1k and have good work life balance!

Happiness is so simple now and I feel so much more less stressed! I could treat myself to some truffle Brie and that gives me immense joy. And it’s only SGD6 🤣

adulting is tough, but life is short! I hope this post made you reflect a little bit on the simple joys in life and inspire anyone who’s still hesitating to make the move to live abroad to just GO FOR IT! It’s a priceless experience that you’ll never forget 🥰
