it’s been 1 year since I’ve been living in France and I realised that I took many many things for granted back in 🇸🇬 🥹 #OnlyInSG now that I’ve experienced a bit of how life is outside, here’s what I really miss about Singapore

✨ WALKING ALONE AS A FEMALE

(even in the day)

I used to have my AirPods in, music blasting at full volume and walking 10 mins from mrt to my house at 1130pm at night without any worry at all. Now when I’m out, I have to be wary of my surroundings all the time. Even though nothing has happened it’s still it made me appreciate the safety in Singapore so much more 🥹

✨ RELIABLE PUBLIC TRANSPORT

the occasional SMRT breakdowns cannot even compare to the delays, breakdowns of European trains 🥲 don’t even get me started on the riots which means public transport lines will be closed and you have no way except to take a cab 🫣 and also living in the countryside means buses or trains only come once every hour 😛

✨ CHEAP & YUMMY FOOD

I’m a huge foodie and having bad food can really destroy my day. Unfortunately cheap and good food is not easy to find here, for the same price of a plate of chicken rice - you probably only can get kebab or cold sandwich from supermarket 😭 but honestly dining out is good in Europe just that it’s more expensive and you can’t afford to eat out everyday

✨ TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENT & EFFICIENCY

ICA sent an apology mail for not replying me in 3 working days, the French admin doesn’t even contact me after 5 months and every time I follow up it’s “just wait, we’ll get back” 🫠 secondly they still accept cheque payments (some of you don’t even know cheque exists okay and imagine France still accept this kind of payment mode lol) but props to Europe for being a very cashless tho 😛

all in all, pros and cons everywhere we live and we can’t really have the best of both worlds but 🇸🇬 is and will always be home 💕 🤭
