managing our 💰 as an unmarried couple living tgt

Living together before marriage brings on more bills and responsibilities cos #Adulting101 🥲 it could be simple by spilling bills here and there but yknow we want equality!

here’s how my partner and I manage it together and it works pretty well for us 💕

❌ 50-50 split

So unromantic! Kidding, it’s not because of this but mainly bc we are both earning very different amounts so it would not be fair to the person who is earning less aka ME 😂 based on how much we earn, we decided on a 65-35 percent split for to contribute to any activities or bills that is shared e.g home appliances, groceries, travel, dates

This brings me to my next point 👇🏼

💰 JOINT ACCOUNT

The contribution goes to a joint account where we both have access and also debit card each. This card will be used for everything that is shared and we still have our own personal accounts for individual stuff like shopping, investing, savings!

This saved us on resentment or guilty on who is paying more etc and I think it’s a great system since it works very well for us!
