150 lbs Down - My Story 🌸

Hi, my name is Michaela, and I’m 30 years old. Ever since I can remember, as early as 5 years old, I struggled with my weight. Obesity was a part of my life, shaping how I moved through the world. But on October 19, 2022, at 28 years old, I made one of the most important decisions of my life—I chose to have Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG). For those unfamiliar, VSG is a bariatric surgery that removes a large portion of the stomach, leaving a sleeve-shaped stomach that holds less food, helping with long-term weight loss.

Despite my success after surgery, like many, I faced challenges, including a weight regain of about 15 pounds. In February 2024, I began a new chapter in my journey by starting GLP-1s, which are medications that help regulate blood sugar and reduce hunger. Currently, I’m on Zepbound, and it has helped me regain control over my health and weight.

Asking for help in the battle against obesity is nothing to be ashamed of—it’s a sign of strength. I am a strong advocate for seeking the support you need, whether through surgery, medication, or lifestyle changes. We deserve to live our healthiest, happiest lives.

Since my weight loss, I’ve experienced a true rebirth. I’m still the same person, but a newer, healthier version—both mentally and physically.
