Fall Baking: Coffee Cake on Depression-era Glass

One of the many joys of autumn is that the weather cools enough for me to start truly baking again. Another of the joys is that it is cool enough to enjoy entering all the little out of the way, hole in the wall antique, vintage, second-hand and thrift shops that I love and miss dearly all summer long. In Maine, our summers have been traditionally so short and mild, many of these smaller by donation, volunteer run shops don’t even have air conditioning. So, in the summers heat I forego many of the little shops I adore until beach weather has subsided. Baking a coffee cake this evening and serving it on a piece of glassware from my antique depression era collection reminds me that it is almost time to go thrifting again! The season is 🤏🏻 thiiiis close! There is NOTHING I love better than pulling together a girly fit, grabbing my little macchiato from my fave shop with my bestie, and taking our little bags and baskets to the farmers market in the crisp morning, followed by an afternoon of antique and thrift shopping! *Chefs Kiss!* Do you love these simple pleasures as well?
