Finally A CAFÉ that is NOT OVERHYPED 🤩💯

We finally paid a visit to Lola's !! This highly raved cafe had over 300 reviews with 4.4/5⭐️ on google and we decided to head down to give it a shot 👀

WHAT WE ORDERED:

1) LOADED TATER TOTS 🥔($13++)

Honestly this was so good. Like the name suggests, this was really LOADED and fried till perfection 🥹🤌🏼. It was nicely crisp on the outside and fluffy on the on inside, and the sour cream and bacon bits helped to give each bite more texture and flavour 😋. Glad that it wasn’t as jelak as i thought it would be 😅 And side note, we waited for all of our dishes to be served before we started digging in and it was still v crispy!! Definitely a must to order!!

2) HONEY PAPRIKA CHICKEN WINGS 🍗 ($13++)

This was soo worth!! 8 pcs (4 wings & 4 drumlets) of nicely battered and seasoned chicken 🫶🏼🫶🏼 though i feel that i can do more of the seasoning for a stronger flavour! (just my personal preference) Definitely worth the try as each piece was really meaty too 😋 Again, just like the tater tots, this remained crispy despite being under the aircon for a good 10mins 😆.

3) MISO SALMON GRAIN BOWL 🐟 ($19++)

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS SIMPLE LOOKING

DISH 😤‼️ Ive tried many places that serve cooked salmon and i dare to say that THIS PLACE☝🏼☝🏼 serves one of the BEST SALMONS. The meat slid off my fork like butter 🥹 and it was seasoned perfectly w the right amt of miso 💗, giving it a nice, smooth and sweet taste 👅. The avocado 🥑 was SO CREAMY 😮‍💨 and it helped bind all the elements together and the quinoa was so soft and fluffy as well 🧡🧡 (which could only mean that it was cooked perfectly🤌🏼) Added an additional hanjuku egg 🥚 for $2 as well cos ... how can i say no to hanjuku eggs right ?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

4) SHASHUKA 🍅🍳 ($16++)

This came w 3 slices of sourdough 🍞 & the shashuka packed a punch 🥊 but wasn’t too tomato-ey / overpowering that made u feel like 🤢🤢. They balanced it out realllllyy well: slightly tangy but sweet and creamy at the same time? and when paired w the sourdough, my oh my its a whole new world 🤧‼️

5) UJI MATCHA GREEN TEA LATTE 🍵($7++)

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 4.5/5

Choice of regular, skinny, oat/soy milk and i chose skinny! The matcha was towards the sweeter side but it progressively gets more creamy and milky in the middle and slightly bitter at the end.

6) BASIL MINT LEMONADE 🍋 ($6.50++)

Wasnt too sweet nor sour — perfectly balanced 👌🏼

Overall, i would say IT IS definitely worth the hype though price wise i would say its q pricey 🥲🥹 (esp w the 9% gst now oof 😮‍💨💸) but ig you’re paying for the quality here!! Definitely worth visiting ONCE if u have yet to try!! (me and my bf both rated 7 to 7.5/10 ➡️ minus 1 to 1.5 cos of price 😤)

‼️Do note to make a reservation at least 1.5 to 2 weeks in advance (i made a reservation 1 week in advance but the earliest timing i could get was 230 as all the other timings were fully booked 😵‍💫)
