Clean Leca Outside!

When you first bring leca home it is going to be dirty. Full of clay dust, which needs to be thoroughly rinsed out, soaked, and sanitized before it is ready to be used.

But it must be done outside!⚠️🌳

The clay will build up in your pipes if done in a sink, bath, or shower and can cause blockages and very expensive repairs.😅

We take a big 10 inch net pot like you see in the video and rinse it, soak it in a bin, rinse, and repeat until the water it soaks in is pretty much clear.💧

In the last soak we add hydrogen peroxide to sterilize the leca before potting plants into it. This helps prevent mold growth and reduces the chances of root rot especially with plants that are freshly adjusting into semi-hydro from soil.🌵
