Hello 👋 For those who live in the city without a car, it may seem to be hard to get to trails. There are actually a lot of trails you can get to from the city by train. Today, I’d like to share trails in Beacon that are the easiest to access from NYC.
Beacon is also a popular weekend getaway destination known for cute shops and great restaurants, but it also has great trails!
🚉ACCESS
Metr-North Hudson Line from Grand Central station
🥪WHAT TO BRING
At Grand Central Station / on Main street after you get off at Beacon, make sure to grab water, lunch, snacks, & etc. On trains there is no shops or public bathrooms.
We stopped by The Beacon Daily before going into the trails. This cute sandwich shop has a wide range of menus. It's located a little off of the main street.
🎒TRAILS
This is the route we took:
Main street > Madam Brett Park > Waterfall > Dennings point state park > Riverfront Trail > Beacon Station
We found a cute spot facing Hudson river for lunch on the Riverfront trail.
🎫 COST
all trails are free. You just need to pay for metro north which is $24 (peak)/ $17.75 (off peak)
