Vitals Day

The basics we need to know as a nurse can be intimidating. Here’s how I passed my vitals assessment in under five minutes!

🥼 always start with introducing yourself and sanitizing or washing your hands

✌🏽 gather your two identifiers

🫡 state why you’re there. “I’m here to take your vitals.”

🩺 blood pressure manually and pulse ox on the opposite index finger

❤️ pulse measurement for 30 seconds then respiration measurement for 30 sec as if you’re still taking their pulse for an accurate reading! X2 your readings!

🌡️ lastly, temperature! Oral or axilla for most accurate reading.

Don’t forget to chart your findings!
