DIY Wedding Album 📸

Both of us are super picky when it comes to photography, the photo enthusiasts ourselves. It was tough to find any photography packages that would fit our budget and visual standards.

Besides, we didn’t like the idea of going to places that we will never go dressed in outfits that we would never wear just to take photos that didn’t look like us.

So over a period of a year, we started bringing our tripod and camera with us to our travels as well as to interesting spots in Singapore to take photos!

Not gonna, lie this is not a easy feat especially if you are not trained in photography. And it is a lot easier to have someone else trigger the camera, composite the shots, catch a moment is that you would never have on your own. But we believe that capturing authentic memories especially our photos of each other are really precious! ☺️

Some gear that we took with us include:

- tripod

- our personal cameras (a DSLR & micro 3/4s)

- portable reflector

- outfit changes

- props and accessories

We also included photos from an Oiran themed studio photoshoot (we got the package that included digital copies of all the photos taken).

I laid out the photos on the web based editor from our photo book printing vendor and also arranged it on canva to be used as a photo slide show with animated elements! 😉

These would have caused us a pretty penny at a studio. Also we could change up the looks, retake on another day and have access to all our photos and slowly work on it over the year.

An alternative we’ve heard of is to travel and hire a local photographer to capture moments which could also be a great alternative if you don’t have photography experience.
