PSYCH SERVICE DOG

One of the biggest remedies for my mental health struggles has been my dog, Finley.

When I looked to get Finley I told our breeder I wanted him to become a psychiatric service dog and she paired us with the litter she thought would be the best fit.

I truly lucked out because he took to sensing my anxiety extremely easily. He caught on quickly to interrupting behaviors and deep pressure therapy was an easy add on from there.

Recently he learned item retrieval which only took him minutes to catch on because he LOVES a game of fetch.

I can’t wait to find more tasks that will better us as a duo. He truly loves working all helping me in any way I can.

He even helps me take the laundry to the washer or back to our room to be folded.

I believe everyone should try teaching their pup a few tasks to help with their specific mental health needs!

These tasks can make such a difference as dogs naturally already make a difference in our mental health just by being in our lives.
