How birth control ruined my life:

After talking to my OB about all my options of birth control, she insisted on the Nexplanon or the IUD. I refused to get the IUD after seeing multiple people getting pregnant, or people that i know who have gotten it have had to get a Hysterectomy due to hemorrhaging.

I decided on the Nexplanon implant. My OB told me it wouldn’t make me gain weight, it wouldn’t put me in a depressed mood or increase my anxiety.

But here’s what actually happened:

•I gained 29 pounds in 3 months

•depression increased

•I was angry at everything all the time

•zero sex drive

•no energy to do anything

•having constant anxiety attacks

•almost stopped my thyroid from working completely

Even after having my birth control removed, i’m still struggling with these things. I’m on medication for my thyroid, which makes me feel better some days and i’m losing weight, just not as quickly as i gained it which is normal. I have multiple doctors appointments, blood tests, and check ups, all because of birth control. Long story short: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE NEXPLANON!
