Apple Turnovers 🍎✨🍁

#fallfood #lemon8challenge Apples are in season which means you can find them fresh, and cheaper than they normally would be in the store throughout the rest of the year.

I made Apple pie filling from scratch a few weeks ago, canned it, and than decided to use a can today to make the perfect Apple turnovers 🫶🏼🍎

These are so easy!! There is only 3 ingredients for the Apple turnovers and than homemade frosting on top only takes 2 ingredients!!! Here is how you make them!

Apple Turnerover ingredients:

🍎Apple Pie filling

🍎puff pastry dough (I bought mine at the store)

🍎egg wash

Frosting Ingredients:

🍎 powder sugar

🍎heavy cream

Optional add ins:

🍎baking vanilla

🍎cinnamon

Instructions:

🍎Preheat the Oven to 425F

🍎grab your puff pastry dough and cut it into the shapes you want for your turnovers

🍎get your apple pie filling and add it on top of half of the shapes you cut

🍎grab another shape and cover the top to close the turnover

🍎 take a fork and smash it on the edges to close the pouch evenly

🍎rub your egg wash on the top of the turnover

🍎Bake in the oven for 15-18 minutes

🍎while it’s baking make you’re frosting!

Frosting instructions:

🍎add a cup of powder sugar into a bowl

🍎add 1/4 of heavy cream into the bowl and whisk until the frosting is consistent

🍎drizzle the frosting on top of the turnovers when they come out of the oven and let the frosting set.

The best thing about this recipe is that you can use it all year long for whatever fruit is in season at the time, but personally I love fall and I love apple season so it’s just a perfect treat for this time of year.
