### Mississippi Pot Roast Recipe (Crockpot)
#### Ingredients:
- 3-4 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix
- 1 packet (1 oz) au jus gravy mix
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
- 5-6 pepperoncini peppers
- 1/4 cup pepperoncini juice (optional)
- 1/4 cup beef broth (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
#### Instructions:
1. **Preparation**:
- Season the beef chuck roast with a small amount of salt and pepper on both sides.
2. **Layering in the Crockpot**:
- Place the seasoned roast in the bottom of the crockpot.
- Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
3. **Adding the Rest**:
- Place the stick of butter on top of the roast.
- Arrange the pepperoncini peppers around the roast.
- If using, pour the pepperoncini juice and beef broth into the crockpot for extra moisture and flavor.
4. **Cooking**:
- Cover the crockpot with the lid.
- Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the roast is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
5. **Serving**:
- Once cooked, shred the roast using two forks, mixing it with the juices in the crockpot.
- Serve hot, with the option to pair it with mashed potatoes, rice, or over a sandwich.
#### Tips:
- Adjust the number of pepperoncini peppers to suit your taste preference for spiciness.
- For a complete meal, add chopped vegetables (like carrots and potatoes) to the crockpot during the last 2-3 hours of cooking.
