BABIES DONT PLAY WITH TOYS!
They really don鈥檛!
With my first two kids I thought maybe they were just unique in their unwillingness to play with toys, but the more I talked to other moms the more I realized it鈥檚 a universal fact! Kids under the age of 2 years old generally don鈥檛 really play with toys!
My first born son鈥檚 favorite toys to play with consisted of cooking pots and pans and kitchen utensils, along with anything remotely dangerous and chewing on our shoes.
Seriously.
Not only did I get better at putting certain items out of arms reach, but I also learned that all of the toys I had bought for my newborn were completely useless, and that he would much rather be given a metal bowl in a few measuring cups to play with!
After having my second born, I gave up and completely donated all of the baby toys we had. Now that my boys are a little older, they love playing with certain toys like kinetic sand and magnet tiles.
But I鈥檓 not buying any toys for my newborn, knowing it鈥檚 going to be a complete waste of money and space!
