ALL of these boundaries make people mad. Some are “too lenient” and some are “too strict” but I do not care.

As a mom, I am going to respect every mothers wishes for her children.

And I expect the same treatment.

I’d you cannot treat me or my wishes & rules with respect; don’t expect to be invited over. Birth & postpartum are challenging enough and I will NOT be stressed out in my own home in my own safe space.

I know that a big wish most moms have is that no one kisses their baby, even family. I completely respect & understand that wish but I do not feel the same way about my babies. I have had 2 & having another on the way and have never had any serious illnesses or sicknesses with my kids & take a slightly different approach that some do to health and while I don’t think there is a “right” way to do it, I’m more of a “expose your kids to the germs so their bodies make antibodies & fight off any germs.

That being said, if you are sick… stay away from me AND my baby because we have enough to deal with being sleepless & nursing every two hours let alone getting sick 🤣

Another slightly controversial wish of mine is that alllll my friends and family would come over as soon as possible to visit/bring meals/help around the house.

I know some people just want to be alone while healing physically & emotionally but I’ve always been 110% extroverted and I just want people around which also helps me fight post partum blues/depression that I get when I’m left alone with my thoughts. It can also just be extremely helpful for me to have someone who can hold the baby for a minute or get me a drink of water or whatever I need while I just sit & relax.

What are some boundaries YOU have for postpartum? No wrong answers! You do what’s best for YOU and YOUR mental health!
